The Department of Educational Psychology is one of the departments of the Faculty of Education at Aswan University. In addition to academic teaching and qualifying specialized scientific staff in the field of educational psychology, the department aims to keep pace with global scientific developments in the discipline. The department includes a number of Academic staff, associate professors, and lecturers specializing in various fields and branches of educational psychology, such as measurement and evaluation, counseling, mental health, special education, and others.
This academic staff contributes to teaching and supervising research projects for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The department also includes a technical staff of teaching assistants and assistant lecturers who play an effective role in training and practical applications in the fields of teaching and learning, psychological and educational measurement and evaluation, and other essential skills necessary for preparing creative teachers.
The department has contributed to preparing scientific generations equipped with sound scientific knowledge and professional ethics, enabling them to continue research, renewal, and innovation in this specialization, in service of the scientific movement in the Arab world in general and Egypt in particular. Graduates of the department are qualified to work in all fields related to this specialization, such as specialized research centers, measurement and evaluation centers, and psychological and educational counseling centers. They are also qualified to work in various applications of special education and in the identification and care of gifted individuals, in addition to possessing the competencies that qualify them to be creative teachers in schools of general education as well as language schools.
Department Mission:
* Providing a comprehensive vision and an integrated analysis of psychological theories and modern trends that explain behavior, learning, and the formation of human personality, as well as their applications in the field of education.
* Developing and standardizing psychological and educational tools and tests for use in measurement and evaluation within the Egyptian environment.
* Actively contribution to scientific research by conducting psychological and educational studies and research that help explain and treat existing psychological and educational problems in the educational field, as well as preparing researchers in this field.
* Providing psychological and educational counseling services to faculty and university students and to all those interested in the educational process inside and outside the university.

The Department of Psychology is a distinguished academic department and a model for providing knowledge resources in their various forms that support and develop learning, education, and scientific research. It aims to prepare specialized cadres that achieve competitiveness and excellence at the university level and among peer universities, and that confront current and future challenges through a developed and continuously renewed environment to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development.
